100% Tempranillo. 15 months in barrels

Macán classic wine is made from grapes harvested from 92 hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria, spread across the Rioja Alavesa towns of Labastida, Elvillar, Ábalos, Navaridas and San Vicente de la Sonsierra.

These small estates, at an altitude of almost 500 metres, have plants with an average age of 32 years, located on low-yield soils composed of limestone and sand. The climate is mild, Atlantic in nature, with Mediterranean and continental influences.

The harvest is carried out manually, with a selection of bunches on the field of the best specimens. and taking into account the optimal moment of ripening of the bunches.

The wine is transferred to fine and extra-fine grain American and French oak barrels (built in Vega Sicilia's own cooperage) where it is aged for 15 months.

Finally, the wine is bottled (without clarifying or filtering) and rests in the cellar for 18 months before being marketed.
